Mission Statement

We, the Parish of Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church, are an integral part of the Catholic Diocese of Richmond.  We proclaim God's love and the Good News of Jesus Christ to all by embracing the Church's Sacred Scriptures and teachings.

We are committed to strengthening our Mission of Service by encouraging stewardship centered on ways to better serve our parish and community as set forth in the themes of Catholic Social Teachings.   We believe our faith is expressed by our diversity, inclusiveness and commitment to serve others.  We encourage all to join in our Community by participating in our worship and volunteering to share their time, God-given gifts, and talents.

THE ADVENT WREATH:

In recent years, the Advent Wreath has become an excellent means of preparing for Christmas. Each week we will have a special family prayer as the candles are lighted in your home.

FIRST WEEK:
LEADER: Our help is in the name of the Lord.
ALL: Who hath made heaven and earth.
LEADER: Let us pray, O God, by whose word all things are made holy, pour out your blessings upon this wreath, and help us that as we use it, we may prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ and may receive abundant blessing from you. We ask this through the same Christ, our Lord.
ALL: Amen
